Annual ACTFL(American Council On The Teaching of Foreign Languages Conference Draws a Close This Year.

Its Members Are Full of New Updates.

[From World Journal In San Antonio] The annual ACTFL conference held in San Antonio is about to come to an end.  The conference attendees and its members from all over the states view the conference a worthwhile trip.  

Six Chinese teachers from FCBC San Antonio Chinese School participated in this event and attended a one day of scheduled workshops provided for Chinese language qualifications training by Hanban (the Office of Chinese Language Council International).  Picture here are Hong hong Dong(Rachel), Director in charge of teaching, (2nd from left) and Huey Jen Lee (2nd from right) and other teachers,  who show great appreciations and thanks to CLASS (Chinese Language Association of Secondary-Elementary Schools) and Hanban.

Ms. Huey-Jen Lee said, because of generous sponsors from both CLASS and Hanban, Texas heritage Chinese School teachers are able to attend this year's ACTFL conference, saving each Texas Chinese teacher$300 more for registration and workshop fees.  Furthermore, we have gained so much valuable information and knowledge from the two days of workshop trainings and sessions.

Hong hong Dong stated that this conference helps widen our views in the profession. The workshop trainings and sessions offered by Chinese language experts in the conference set higher standards for us Chinese teachers.  For a qualified Chinese teacher, we must not only equip ourselves with the needed knowledge of Chinese language (history, literature), we also need the passion for teaching, and patience in the classrooms.
