FCBC Youth Group News
June 4, 2008

You've done it!  You have finished another year of school, and a fun filled summer is waiting for you.  We're so excited to be able to share this summer with you!

We have a lot of things planned for you in the next couple months.  We hope that you will be able to come out and play, worship, and grow deeper in your love of God with us.  You can take a look below at what amazing opportunities are being offered for you with the FCBC Youth Group starting this week!

Summer Small Groups
Sign Up this week!

From June to the middle of August, there is a small group waiting for you to join. All students from outgoing 5th graders to outgoing High School Seniors are invited to participate.

A small group is a group of about 4-8 girls or guys your own age.  Each group will be meeting once a week, at a time most convenient for the whole group.  For about an hour, you will get to study the bible and talk about things that apply to you.

For more information please contact David for guy small groups, and Stephanie for girl small groups. Or you can sign up this weekend at church with one of us.

Lock-In!
Sunday, June 8

After the musical on Sunday there will be a youth group lock in.  Starting at 2pm on Sunday and ending at 10am on Monday, we will be helping with VBS props and decorations, playing games, eating dinner, playing more games, letting loose, sleeping a little, and then getting up to eat breakfast together.

There will be supervision, and we will be providing both dinner and breakfast.  Girls and guys will be in separate buildings between 12am and 8am.

Bring a sleeping bag and pillow, and prepare to have some fun after a long school year.  The whole youth group (outgoing 5th grade-outgoing seniors) is invited.

Small Group Kick-off
Friday, June 13

Small group Kick-off will be June 13th during Friday Night Fellowship.  At 7:30pm we will begin a night of small group introductions, games, food, and fun.  Make sure you sign up for small group before June 13th so you can meet your group and make a shirt with them!  We will all wear our small group-home-made shirts that night so you can show the other groups what y'all are all about!

VBS is Around the Corner
June 16th -20th

Aloha!

If you haven't signed up for VBS, there is still time!  Middle schoolers can participate in classes and festivities, and if you are a high schooler you have a great opportunity to volunteer to help out in a variety of areas-- crafts, recreation, teacher-assistant, and more.

Contact Mary or Meagan for more information or you can register this weekend in the foyer.

Wednesday Night Worship
Starts Tonight!

This summer, some of the college kids (and a few other adults) are organizing a Worship Night for y'all!

On Wednesday nights between 8-9pm, we will be in the sanctuary worshiping, fellowshiping, sharing, and caring for each other.  Join us for a time to relax, let go of the week's stresses, and focus on our good friend, Jesus.

Last "Making History" Practice
This Thursday, 4-8pm

If you are in the musical, you must be at the last prep/dress rehearsal this Thursday from 4-8pm.  Prep is from 4-6pm and we are practicing the actual musical between 6-8pm.  Dinner will be provided for all musical members.  For more information or questions about this practice, email
Stephanie.
Making History Musical Presentation

This past semester about 25 members of the FCBC youth group have been learning songs, skits and choreography, but more importantly they've been learning how to have a personal relationship with God and what it means to really have an impact on the people around them.

On Friday, June 6 at 7:30pm and Sunday, June 8 at 11am, there will be an hour long presentation of the musical entitled "Making History", by Dennis and Nan Allen.  Admission is FREE! Bring your friends!

We are both so excited to be working with you this summer.  If you ever have any questions about small groups, Wednesday night Worship, Friday night Fellowship, or Sunday School, or if you just need to talk, don't hesitate to ask one of us.  Hope to see you tonight at Wednesday Night Worship!

In Him,
